Planets

The 3rd Planet is sure that they're being watched,
By an eye in the sky that can't be stopped,
When you get to the promised land,
You're gonna shake that eye's hand.

Your heart felt good.
It was drippin' pitch and made of wood.
And your hands and knees,
Felt cold and wet on the grass beneath,
While outside naked, shiverin', looking blue,
From the cold sunlight that's reflected off the moon
And baby come angels fly around you,
Reminding you that we used to be three and not two,
And that's how the world began.
And that's how the world will end.

Well, the 3rd had just been made and we're swimming in the water.
Didn't know then, was it a son, was it a daughter?
And it occurred to me that the animals are swimming,
Around in the water in the oceans, in our bodies,
And another had been found, another ocean on the planet,
Given that our blood is just like the Atlantic, and how.
Well, the universe is shaped exactly like the earth;
If you go straight long enough you'll end up where you were.
And the universe is shaped exactly like the earth;
If you go straight long enough you'll end up where you were.
And the universe is shaped exactly like the earth...

Love is a Movement...

About a month ago I had a life changing experience...

These people taught me so much about life and how to love life...

So many different abilities all reaching toward one goal, movement...

I was able to dance again...

I was able to dance with people that will be my friends for life...

I was able to photograph these people doing what they LOVE...

This group is amazing and I was so honored to be a part of it for even just a week...

For the love of dance...

I had danced ballet and modern for 11 years before I was diagnosed with bone cancer which took away my ability to dance again. It has been 6 years since I have physically been able to dance the way I used to. And I miss it every day...

I love bringing my 2 passions together (dance & photography) and I feel it is the closest I can get to being in that moment again.

It was a twist of fate that I happened to be in the city when this Riverbank local dance company performed in Golden Gate Park. It was also a twist of fate that in the 20 minutes I was there, this group performed and that I had my camera on me.

The dance moved me so so much. And when I was naming the photos I had captured from this work of art it seemed to coincide with their actual message they wanted to portray (I found out later that the name of the dance was "Hereafter").

I think both KT Davis dance and myself were truly truly blessed to have this opportunity to meet no matter how brief.

Melt My Heart

So I have begun to expand my "repertoire" and am moving into photographing babies/mommas/kids/families. I am so excited to see all these wonderful people in my life and their children.

Especially with these little ones :) Like most shoots will little children it was short but very sweet. S & J's Momma and Avo' were really great and knew exactly what to do to start these little ones giggling. It made me smile hearing their laughs.

It was the first sunny day in weeks and this was a perfect way to kick it off!!!

If anyone wants photos of their kids, maternity &/or family photos I am available for appointment!

Hidden Treasures

I have become somewhat obsessed with old barns, doors and mid-western architecture. I was searching through my terabyte hard drive for textures for photos.

I found photos that I did almost exactly 2 years ago at an old mill in northern California. You can imagine my excitement when I saw this picture.

I had completely forgotten about this day. My dad and I went to the mill as a special shooting day. I like photographing old buildings and my dad loves road trips and learning the history of places. It was a great day with beautiful weather and I am glad I found this hidden treasure to remind me of that day.

Pinot & Photos

I had the privilege of being on the Sonoma Coast photographing some of the most beautiful landscapes in California.

I have also had the privilege of being a part of some great wineries and personally witnessing the art that is wine making.

This past week I have been working with LaRue Wines and the wine maker behind it all, Katy Wilson. We had an awesome photo shoot on Thursday which will be able to be seen on LaRue's website soon!

LaRue Wines is releasing their Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir in May! With Katy's expertise, great palate, and passion I think the wine is going to be really great.
