Baking keeps him going

My great grandfather, 98 years old, still as sharp as a tack. His hearing is going but other than that he is doing great!

He always loves to play cribbage, loves baseball, and of course the Iowa Hawkeyes will always be his team.

I was so excited to hear he was making his sweet bread that I had to rush over and take pictures of him.

I love my great grandpa! He is so cute!

  1. Thanks Courtney for the Gift of Pictures. This is a great example. In our home growing up my Mom and Dad shared the tasks of preparing food. They would both split the main course, which was always wonderful. Mom would make the pie crusts & fillings (we had fresh cherrie and rhubarb growing in our back yard) among many good vegetables. Dad would make the Cakes and Candy. How delightful they were together. You know that old saying "Good Stuff Maynard", well it was said quite often by us. We must have called mom the "Betty Crocker" of the kitchen.
